1. Information We Collect

1.1 Analytics Data

We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve our service, including:

• Page views and navigation patterns
• Search queries (origin and destination toll plazas)
• Device type and browser information
• Geographic location (city/region level only)

1.2 Session Data

We assign anonymous session IDs to understand user interactions. Session IDs are:

• Randomly generated and stored locally in your browser
• Not linked to any personally identifiable information
• Used solely for analytics and improving user experience
• Automatically deleted when you clear your browser data

1.3 Information You Give Us in Forms

Some pages have a form you can choose to fill in: the car loan "Get help applying" form, and the insurance, dealership and contact forms. When you send one, we receive what you type and a few technical details.

• Car loan form: full name, mobile number, email, barangay, city or municipality, province, ZIP code, preferred bank, and the answers you gave in the loan finder (car price, down payment, term, how you earn, monthly income if you entered it)
• Other forms: name, phone number, email, the item you asked about and your message
• Technical details sent with any form: the page you sent it from, the site that referred you, your IP address, browser type, approximate city and country, and any campaign tags in the link you followed (UTM source, medium and campaign). We use these to stop spam and duplicate submissions. With a car loan request we also keep the consent wording you agreed to and the time you agreed.

Why we collect it: a member of the Expressway.ph team uses your car loan details to call you within 48 hours about the loan you asked for, and your address to point you to bank branches and dealers near you. Other forms are used only to answer your request.

Who sees it: only the Expressway.ph team. We do not sell your details, and we do not pass them to a bank, dealer or insurer unless you ask us to during that call.

Your consent: the car loan form only sends when you tick the consent box. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing privacy@expressway.ph; we then delete your request.

2. Voice Assistant Privacy

2.1 How Voice Recognition Works

• Browser-based processing: Voice recognition uses your browser's built-in Web Speech API (provided by Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Safari)
• No audio recording: We never record, store, or have access to your voice audio
• Transcript only: The browser converts your speech to text locally, and only the text transcript is processed
• Privacy by design: The microphone automatically stops after each query result

2.2 What We Receive

When you use the voice assistant, we receive only:

• Text transcripts: The written form of what you said (e.g., "Balintawak to Clark")
• Extracted data: Origin plaza, destination plaza, and vehicle class
• Search metadata: Timestamp, session ID, and whether the query succeeded

We never receive or store:

• Your voice audio recordings
• Your name, phone number, or email address
• Your exact GPS location
• Any personally identifiable information

2.3 Text-to-Speech (TTS) Audio

When we speak toll results aloud:

• We use OpenAI's text-to-speech API to generate audio (e.g., "The toll is 467 pesos")
• Generated audio is cached in Supabase public storage for faster repeat queries
• Cached audio contains no personal information, only toll amounts and plaza names
• Cache files are publicly accessible but anonymous (no user linkage)

2.4 Your Voice Privacy Rights

• Opt-out anytime: Simply don't use the voice assistant feature. The manual calculator is always available.
• Control microphone access: Your browser will ask for permission before accessing your microphone. You can revoke this anytime in browser settings.
• No voice profiles: We do not build voice profiles, voiceprints, or any biometric identifiers.
• Automatic stop: The microphone stops immediately after showing your result. We never listen in the background.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Answer requests you send us: Call or email you about a car loan, insurance, dealership or contact form you submitted
• Provide toll calculations: Process your queries (voice or manual) to show accurate toll fees
• Improve accuracy: Analyze failed queries to enhance plaza name matching
• Analytics: Understand which routes are most popular to prioritize features
• Performance optimization: Monitor response times and error rates

We do not:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Use your data for advertising
• Share your data with marketers
• Build user profiles for tracking across websites

4. Data Storage and Security

• Database: Search queries and analytics are stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL) with encryption at rest
• Retention: Analytics data is retained for 90 days, then anonymized or deleted
• Car loan requests: kept for 12 months from the day you send them, then deleted automatically
• Other form requests: kept until you ask us to delete them
• Form access: form submissions are stored in a table that the public website cannot read; only the Expressway.ph team can see them
• Access control: Only authorized administrators can access analytics data
• HTTPS: All data transmission is encrypted using industry-standard SSL/TLS

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Web Speech API: Browser-based voice recognition (Google's privacy policy applies)
• OpenAI TTS API: Text-to-speech audio generation (OpenAI's privacy policy applies)
• Supabase: Database and storage, including form submissions (Supabase's privacy policy applies)
• Google Analytics 4: Page and event analytics. We send no names, phone numbers, emails or addresses to it (Google's privacy policy applies)
• Microsoft Clarity: Anonymous usage and session analytics (Microsoft's privacy policy applies)
• Vercel: Hosting and deployment (Vercel's privacy policy applies)

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to:

• Store your anonymous session ID
• Remember your theme preference (light/dark mode)
• Cache frequently used data for faster loading

Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity set their own cookies to count visits and understand how pages are used. You can block or delete cookies and local storage at any time in your browser settings.

7. Your Rights

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), you have the right to:

• Be informed: Know what we collect and why (this page)
• Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correct: Ask us to fix anything that is wrong
• Portability: Get your data in a common electronic format you can take elsewhere
• Damages: Be paid for damage caused by inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or unlawfully used personal data
• Delete or block: Ask us to delete your form submissions or session data
• Object and withdraw consent: Tell us to stop contacting you; we stop and delete your request
• Complain: Contact us at privacy@expressway.ph, or file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph)

8. Children's Privacy

Expressway.ph is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used our service, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of Expressway.ph after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10.1 No Affiliation

Expressway.PH has no affiliation, association, authorization, endorsement, or connection of any kind with the following entities or their subsidiaries, affiliates, or agents:

• San Miguel Corporation (SMC) Tollways or its Autosweep RFID system
• Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) or its Easytrip RFID system
• The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB)
• Any Philippine government agency, department, or instrumentality
• Any expressway concessionaire, operator, or contractor (NLEX Corp, MNTC, South Luzon Tollway Corp, etc.)
• Any RFID installation center, reload agent, or toll collection provider

10.2 Information for Reference Only

All toll rates, RFID information, travel times, fuel cost estimates, route details, and other data published on Expressway.PH are provided for general informational and reference purposes only. While we make every effort to keep information accurate and up to date, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability, or availability of the information contained on this website.

10.3 No Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Expressway.PH, its owner, operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with:

• Use of or reliance on any information displayed on this website
• Inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete toll rates, route information, or RFID details
• Financial losses, overcharges, or incorrect toll fee payments
• Travel delays, route changes, or any inconvenience resulting from use of this website
• Any decision or action taken based on information from this website
• Unavailability, interruption, or malfunction of this website or its features

Users are solely responsible for verifying toll fees, RFID requirements, and route details at the actual point of travel. Toll rates may change without prior notice when approved by the Toll Regulatory Board.

All trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos, and brand names appearing on this website, including but not limited to Autosweep, Easytrip, NLEX, SLEX, Skyway, TPLEX, SCTEX, CALAX, CAVITEX, STAR Tollway, NAIAX, MCX, Harbor Link, and NLEX Connector, are the property of their respective owners. Their use on this website is for identification and informational purposes only and does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
