Frequently Asked Questions
Autosweep RFID is the electronic toll collection system used on expressways operated by SMC Tollways, including SLEX, Skyway, TPLEX, STAR Tollway, NAIAX, and CALAX. It uses a sticker-type RFID tag installed on your vehicle's headlight area that is scanned automatically at toll plazas for cashless payment.
Easytrip RFID is the electronic toll collection system used on NLEX, SCTEX, CAVITEX, C5 Link, and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway. Managed by Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), it also uses a sticker-type RFID tag for automatic toll deduction at entry and exit barriers.
If you regularly use expressways from both systems, yes. Autosweep covers SLEX, Skyway, TPLEX, STAR Tollway, NAIAX, and CALAX, while Easytrip covers NLEX, SCTEX, and CAVITEX. However, an interoperability program is being rolled out to allow a single RFID to work on all expressways. Check the latest updates as this program continues to expand.
For Autosweep, you can check your balance through the Autosweep website (autosweep.com), the Autosweep mobile app, or by calling the hotline. For Easytrip, check via the Easytrip website (easytrip.ph), the Easytrip RFID app, or at any Easytrip customer service center. You can also view your balance on the LED display at toll plazas after each transaction.
Autosweep RFID can be installed at designated Autosweep customer service centers located at SLEX, Skyway, and TPLEX toll plazas, as well as at select partner locations. Easytrip RFID installation is available at NLEX and SCTEX toll plazas and authorized installation sites. Both systems offer free RFID stickers with an initial load requirement (typically PHP 200 for Autosweep and PHP 160 for Easytrip).
Yes, motorcycles can use RFID on expressways where they are allowed. Autosweep offers a motorcycle-specific RFID sticker. However, note that motorcycles are only permitted on certain expressways such as TPLEX, SCTEX, and parts of NLEX. Motorcycles are not allowed on Skyway, SLEX (Skyway section), and some other elevated expressways for safety reasons.
