About Bulacan
Bulacan is a province in Central Luzon directly north of Metro Manila, making it one of the most accessible provinces from the capital. It is historically significant as the birthplace of the Philippine Republic, with the Barasoain Church in Malolos serving as the site of the First Philippine Congress. The province has become a major residential and commercial spillover area from Metro Manila, with cities like Meycauayan, Marilao, and Bocaue experiencing rapid urbanization. NLEX traverses the entire length of Bulacan from south to north, with exits at every major town. Bulacan is also the site of the New Manila International Airport (Bulacan Airport) currently under construction in Bulakan, which will be a major air hub when completed. The province is known for its pyrotechnics industry in Bocaue, chicharon (pork crackling) from Santa Maria, and pastillas de leche from Bulacan's dairy towns.
