Key Segments & Bottlenecks

SCTEX runs in two branches from the Dau interchange. The eastern branch heads to Tarlac (50 km), connecting to TPLEX for Baguio-bound travelers. This section passes through Clark Special Economic Zone, with the Clark South interchange serving airport traffic.

The western branch runs to Subic Bay Freeport via Tipo (44 km). This route passes through the Sacobia interchange and the scenic Zambales foothills. The Subic end provides access to Subic Bay beaches, duty-free shopping, and the former US naval base.

Both branches are well-maintained with good lane markings and frequent rest areas. The expressway has very few accidents due to its low traffic volume and straight alignment.
