Autosweep and Easytrip RFID Interoperability Update 2026

The latest on Autosweep and Easytrip RFID interoperability efforts — current status, government mandates, and what motorists need to know.

Current RFID Interoperability Status

As of February 2026, the Autosweep and Easytrip RFID systems remain separate and non-interoperable. Motorists who travel on both SMC Tollways (Autosweep) and MPTC (Easytrip) expressways still need two separate RFID stickers with individual account balances. Despite years of government directives, full interoperability has not yet been achieved.

Government Mandates and Timeline

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) have repeatedly mandated interoperability between the two toll collection systems. Key milestones include the signing of MOUs between SMC Tollways and MPTC, pilot testing at select interchanges, and ongoing technical integration work. However, full nationwide interoperability remains a work in progress with no confirmed completion date.

What Interoperability Would Mean

Once fully implemented, RFID interoperability would allow motorists to use a single RFID sticker across all Philippine expressways — whether Autosweep or Easytrip. This would eliminate the need for two accounts, simplify balance management, and reduce confusion at expressway interchanges where the RFID system changes (such as SLEX to CALAX, or Skyway Stage 3 to NLEX).

What Motorists Should Do Now

Until interoperability is achieved, motorists should:

  • Install both Autosweep and Easytrip RFID stickers on their vehicles
  • Maintain sufficient balance on both accounts before every trip
  • Use the respective mobile apps (Autosweep RFID and Easytrip RFID) to monitor balances
  • Plan routes with awareness of RFID transitions (e.g., SLEX-to-CALAX, Skyway Stage 3-to-NLEX)
  • Keep cash as backup for unexpected RFID issues

Frequently Asked Questions

Will Autosweep and Easytrip merge in 2026?
As of February 2026, there is no confirmed date for full RFID interoperability. While the government has mandated integration and pilot tests have been conducted, the two systems remain separate. Motorists should continue maintaining both RFID accounts.
Can I use one RFID for all expressways?
Not yet. You still need Autosweep RFID for SMC expressways (SLEX, Skyway, STAR, NAIAX, MCX) and Easytrip RFID for MPTC expressways (NLEX, SCTEX, TPLEX, CALAX, CAVITEX). Both RFID stickers can be installed on the same vehicle.
