Car loan requirements in the Philippines 2026

You need a valid ID, proof of income and a signed application. What counts as proof depends on how you earn. Each list below shows which banks ask for it, from their own requirement pages.

What are the requirements for a car loan in the Philippines?

A valid government ID, proof of income and a signed application form. For employed borrowers that means a certificate of employment with salary (asked by 11 of the banks compared here), payslips and the latest ITR or BIR 2316. Most banks also set an age range and a minimum income.

What is the minimum salary for a car loan?

BDO ₱50,000 a month, family; BPI ₱30,000 a month, household; Metrobank ₱40,000 a month, family; EastWest ₱40,000 a month, individual. Other banks set it case by case.

Can OFWs get a car loan?

Yes. BDO, BPI, Metrobank, Security Bank and China Bank list OFW documents: proof of remittance for 3 to 6 months and an employment or crew contract. Security Bank also asks for a Filipino co-maker, and RCBC for 2 straight years abroad.
