In short
Several of them also set a minimum monthly income of PHP 40,000. Maximum age is set at loan maturity, not at application.
It runs from 65 (Security Bank, PNB, PSBank, UnionBank) to 70 (BDO, BPI, RCBC, EastWest, Maybank, Landbank). That gap matters: the same 55-year-old can get a 5-year term from BDO but only a shorter one from Security Bank.
- Youngest minimum age at application
- 18 (BPI, Metrobank, Maybank)
- Oldest minimum age at application
- 23 (UCPB Savings)
- Lowest maximum age at loan maturity
- 65 (Security Bank, PNB, PSBank, UnionBank, Mitsubishi MMFP)
- Highest maximum age at loan maturity
- 70 (BDO, BPI, RCBC, EastWest, Maybank, Landbank)
- No regulator-wide age rule found
- BSP sets no industry-wide car loan age limit
Check which banks' rules you meet
Loan length: 5 years.
Enter your age and monthly income to see which banks' rules you meet.
The banks' stated minimums. Banks also check your credit record and documents; meeting these rules is not an approval. Security Bank's income rule differs between its own pages, so this tool leaves it out.
Minimum age: three banks let 18-year-olds apply
BPI's Passenger Car auto loan states applicants must be at least 18 years old but not more than 70 at loan maturity. Maybank sets the same floor: 18 years old at application to 70 at maturity.
Metrobank's product page also states a minimum age of 18. Its own help FAQ elsewhere says the minimum age at application is 21, a conflict Metrobank has not resolved across its own pages.
Every other lender in this guide sets the floor higher. RCBC and Landbank both require at least 21 at application.
UCPB Savings sets the highest floor, at 23. Age is only one filter; the pre-approval process checks your income at the same time.
| Bank | Minimum age |

Maximum age at loan maturity, not at application
This is the number that caps how long a term you can take. It is set at the end of the loan.
So a 65-year-old applying to a bank with a 70-at-maturity rule can still take a 5-year loan. The same applicant at a bank with a 65-at-maturity rule cannot take any term longer than the loan ending on their 65th birthday.
Seven of the lenders in this guide set the ceiling at 70: BDO, BPI, RCBC, EastWest, Maybank, and Landbank, plus UCPB Savings for self-employed applicants. Five set it at 65: Security Bank, PNB, PSBank, UnionBank, and Mitsubishi Motors Finance Philippines.
UCPB Savings sets 65 for employed applicants specifically, 70 for self-employed. A cooperative lender, PHCCI, sets 69.

- Security Bank

Maximum loan term, new versus pre-owned
Term maximums are not uniform either, and pre-owned vehicles are usually capped shorter than brand new ones. BDO's own document sets a maximum of 5 years for a brand new personal-use vehicle.
It allows only 3 years for business use, and 4 years for a pre-owned personal-use vehicle. BPI states a maximum of 5 years across the board.
Metrobank, EastWest, Maybank, and Security Bank each cap brand new units at 60 months. Pre-owned units run shorter at Security Bank and China Bank, capped at 48 months.
China Bank Savings caps pre-owned units at 36 to 48 months, depending on the used car's age.
RCBC is the outlier upward: its Auto Loan Flexilite product runs 36 to 96 months, well past every other lender's 60-month ceiling. PNB's own calculator lists a 72-month option, though the calculator does not show a rate for any term.
Run any of these terms through the car loan calculator to see the monthly payment.
| Lender | Brand new | Pre-owned |
|---|---|---|
| BDO | 5 years (personal), 3 years (business) | 4 years (personal), 2 years (business) |
| BPI | Up to 5 years | Up to 5 years |
| Metrobank | 60 months | Not separately stated |
| Security Bank | 60 months | 48 months |
| RCBC (Regular Auto Loan) | 60 months | 48 months |
| RCBC (Auto Loan Flexilite) | 36 to 96 months | Not applicable |
| China Bank | 60 months | 12 to 48 months |
| China Bank Savings | 60 months | 36 to 48 months, by vehicle age |
| Bank of Commerce | 12 to 60 months | 12 to 60 months |
How old a used car can be, on top of your own age
Two limits stack on a pre-owned purchase: your age at loan maturity, and the vehicle's own age at maturity. BDO states the year model should not exceed six years upon loan maturity.
Security Bank runs the vehicle's age plus the loan tenor together: the total must not exceed 11 years.
China Bank uses the same style of rule with a different ceiling: vehicle age plus loan tenor must not exceed seven years upon maturity.
