Across the 7 banks that quote an add-on rate, 60-month rates today run 25.80% to 32.52%.

Check which banks' rules you meet
Loan length: 5 years.
Enter your age and monthly income to see which banks' rules you meet.
The banks' stated minimums. Banks also check your credit record and documents; meeting these rules is not an approval. Security Bank's income rule differs between its own pages, so this tool leaves it out.
Is there a car loan made for seniors or pensioners?
No. None of these lenders state a senior-citizen car loan, a senior discount, or a special rate for pensioners. What decides whether a senior citizen qualifies is the same rule stated on any bank's car loan requirements.
That rule is the maximum age at the end of the loan term. It sets how many years you have left to borrow for.
Only BPI states a document list specifically for pensioners. Every other bank in this guide accepts only employed, self-employed or OFW income categories, with no pensioner column at all.
Maximum age at loan maturity, bank by bank
This is the number that limits a senior's options. It is the age the bank lets you reach by the time the loan is fully paid, not the age you start at.
| Bank | Maximum age at maturity | Maximum stated term |
|---|---|---|
| BDO | 70 | Up to 5 years |
| BPI | 70 | Up to 5 years |
| RCBC | 70 | Up to 96 months on Auto Loan Flexilite |
| EastWest | 70 | 12 to 60 months |
| Maybank | 70 | Follows the standard auto loan schedule |
| LANDBANK | 70 | Standard Vehicle Loan term |
| Security Bank | 65 | Brand new 12 to 60 months; second hand 12 to 48 months |
| Mitsubishi Motors Finance | 65 | Follows MMFP's standard schedule |
| UCPB Savings | 65 employed, 70 self-employed | Standard auto loan schedule |
| Metrobank | No maximum stated | Standard auto loan schedule |
Working out the longest term a bank will give you
The method is simple arithmetic from each bank's own stated age rule. Subtract your current age from the bank's maximum age at maturity.
Then cap the result at the bank's own maximum term. A 62-year-old applying at BDO, whose maturity limit is 70, has 8 years of headroom.
But BDO's own maximum term is 5 years, so 5 years is what applies. The same applicant at Security Bank, whose maturity limit is 65, has only 3 years of headroom left.
That becomes the working ceiling on the loan, even though Security Bank's own maximum term runs longer. Once you have your working term, size the monthly payment on the calculator.
- Formula
- Bank's maximum age at maturity minus your current age, capped by the bank's own maximum term
- Where it bites hardest
- Applicants nearing a bank's age ceiling get a shorter term regardless of that bank's stated maximum
- No lender states
- A co-borrower rule that lets an applicant exceed the maturity age limit
Documents for a pensioner
BPI is the only lender in this guide with a stated document list for applicants living on a pension.
3 of 3 still to check
BPI does not state on its own page whether pension income counts toward its ₱30,000 household income floor. Treat the two as separate requirements until a loan officer confirms how they combine for your application.
The SSS Pension Loan: a cash option, not a car loan
Retiree and surviving-spouse pensioners under SSS can borrow against their monthly pension through the Pension Loan Program. It is a cash loan with no vehicle as collateral, so it cannot replace a car's chattel mortgage financing.
It can supplement a down payment instead, the same way the low-income car loan guide treats other cash loans: a bridge, not a substitute.
| Term | SSS Pension Loan detail |
|---|---|
| Age limit | 85 years old or below at the end of the loan term |
| Loan amount | 3 times the pension for 6 months, 6 times for 12 months, or 9 to 12 times for 24 months, capped at ₱300,000 |
| Interest and fee | 10% a year on the diminishing balance, plus a 2% service fee deducted from the proceeds |
| Net take-home rule | Your net take-home pension after the deduction must stay at least 40% of your gross monthly pension |
Senior Citizen ID and used-car age limits
A Senior Citizen ID is accepted as a valid government ID by Toyota Financial Services. Foreign retirees holding a Special Resident Retiree's Visa can apply at Metrobank with a valid passport and an SRRV ID from the Philippine Retirement Authority.
Security Bank also caps a used car's combined age: the vehicle's age plus the loan's tenor cannot exceed 11 years. A senior buying an older used car should check this rule before assuming the full term is available.
An 8-year-old car, for example, already limits the loan to 3 years at Security Bank, regardless of the borrower's own age.
Senior car loan claims no lender actually states
A common version of this page states that seniors have a special co-borrower rule and a defined 60-and-above product. It also states generic requirements like payslips and a Certificate of Employment.
None of that fits what a retired pensioner can actually submit, and no lender states a co-borrower exception tied to age.
The one document list built for a non-employed applicant is BPI's pensioner list above, which asks for a Certificate of Pension, not a payslip.
