The NLEX Connector is a specialized expressway serving two distinct purposes: cargo logistics to Manila ports and commuter traffic through the university belt.

The Balintawak end connects to both NLEX and Skyway Stage 3, providing seamless access from northern Luzon to the Port of Manila. The mid-section passes through the España Boulevard area, home to UST, FEU, and other universities, which generates its own commuter traffic pattern.

The C-3/Port end section is the cargo gateway. Trucks transport containers between NLEX-accessible warehouses in Bulacan/Pampanga and the Manila International Container Port.
